I feel like the bathroom is no place to get something clean (not this bathroom, anyway) and there's only one sink in the breakroom which is shared by at least 75 people.
Any advice?Moms who Pump: How do you wash your pump parts while at work?
I bought a second set of horns and connectors. I double pump twice so no washing needed. When I'm done with a set I disassemble and put them in a plastic bag to be washed later at home. Or if you don't want to buy an additional set you could put the used horns/connectors in a sealed bag in the fridge to keep fresh for the next pumping session.
I don't trust those wipes...Moms who Pump: How do you wash your pump parts while at work?
I have those wipes as well. I pump three times a day, and always wash my parts the first two pumps, and only use the wipes after my last pump (because they dont clean it that well and I figure I can clean them when I get home really well) But what I do is carry a little black cooler bag inside my pump (medela backpack pump) I put all my dirty parts in there after pumping, and carry it to the bathroom and wash them. Unfortunately if you refuse to wash them in the bathroom im kind of out of ideas for you. I apolagize for not being able to help much. Another lady here that pumps as well brings her own towel once a week from home and lays it down to set her parts on in the bathroom/pump room to let dry. If the bathroom is that bad I would complain to the cleaners or management about it because thats not sanitary for anyone.
I had this same problem, coz I didn't have access to a clean sink or soap to wash the parts. So i invested in two more breastshields and the yellow parts and membranes. So i pump at 9:30am and then at 3:30pm I use the other two. So i have clean parts at every session. then when I get home I wash in hot and soapy water and then sterilize...I think the shields are like $6 for each at Target and it comes with the yellow piece and the membrane...
Medela makes some special cleaning wipes for breast pump parts. I've never tried those before though so I don't know how good they are. I used to either wash it in the bathroom or when I was just using it once a day at work I would wipe the parts down as best I could with a paper towel and then sterilize it once I was at home.
Medela makes wipes you can clean your pump accessories with while on the go.. I just use these after each pumping session and then soak my pump parts in very warm water and rinse them very well each night.
They sell the wipes at Target in the same aisle as the Medela pumps and stuff.
I used to rinse them off, wrap them in paper towels, so they wouldn't drip and I never had to place them down on the counter or sink and then place them back into the pump case and gave it a thorough wash when I got home.
Hi - at work I only pump once so I just rinse it very well with water and then I wash it thoroughly with soap after I get home.
If you pump more than once during work - I would make sure that you wash it VERY well with soap and water (take extra time to rinse) between usage. Hope this helps!
Try taking a small packet of baby wipes, and cleaning it with those if you are uncomfortable using the sink, and the bathroom is too atrocious to clean something of this nature.
I just rinse and then wash at home. I bought two additional shields/pump accessories so I have four to bring with me each day. This way I never have to worry about them getting cleaned at work and just clean them each night before I go to bed.
They sell Medela breast pump wipes at BabiesRus. They don't require any water.

I used the wipes, but I also would use the Micro Steam bags. If you are able, get extra accessories so that you can just rinse and wash them at home.
How many times do you pump while at work? I only pumped twice (I was working part-time).. so I just had a second set of horns/accessories and just washed them when I got home.
