How to wash away printed text on hard plastic part's surface?

I have some hard plactic parts which are made in China. On surface of the parts there are some printed letters (white color). I want wash the letters away.

I know there is kind of chemical liquid can wash the printed letters away and not damage the plastic part's surface. But I do not know what kind of liquid. Does someone know?

I'd sure like to know the answer to this too.

Acetone can work on some substances, but it dissolves others. Not sure about plastics however. How to wash away printed text on hard plastic part's surface?
Acetone (as nail polish remover) won't harm it! Why do you think they sell it in plastic bottles??!!

This is probably your best bet as many households have it lying around. Methylated spirits is also a good option though doesn't evaporate away so quickly.

There are stronger solvents around but you'd have to order these especially and they won't be cheap.
What scam you up to brother? Shh, there's troopers and Specials on here.
Try methylated spirits first (ethanol dentured with methanol), which you can get from all DIY shops. It wont dissolve the plastic. If it doesn't get the text off then you could be stuck unless you have access to a good chemistry lab.

Most solvents will end up dissolving the plastic, depending on what sort the plastic is. Acetone (commonly found in nail polish remover) would probably get it off, but be careful as it will also most likely dissolve the plastic.
