Moms who pump at work, do you wash the pump parts after every session?

I don't really have access to water and soap at work. If I pump and leave the parts in a zip lock bag, will it be unsanitary to use the same parts to pump again later in the day? If breast milk stays fresh for 8 hrs. shouldn't the parts be ok to use within an 8 hr. period?Moms who pump at work, do you wash the pump parts after every session?
You should rinse it if possible, but if you can't, don't worry about it. Better to do what you're doing than to not pump at all! Good for you. :)Moms who pump at work, do you wash the pump parts after every session?
For starters I would hope that your employer has laid on a facility for you washing your hands at work before you express milk for your baby. Its not very hygienic to reuse the pump without washing it. I hope you are also keeping the expressed milk in a fridge or it will become contaminated and sicken your baby. If you cant get to water would it be possible to buy a second pump for the second session of the day? If not keep the pump in a fridge with the expressed milk.
I didn't pump at work, but I did pump. I would just take the cups off, rinse them out and lay them on a dish towel upside-down to drain. If you rinse them out, dry them off and put them in a zip lock, they should be fine. Or even a drawstring, mesh bag so moisture doesn't collect and mold
I rinse them after each session and then when I get home I wash them. I'm sure what you do is fine, but as another answerer said, bring a bottle of water and at least rinse it.. But if you can't it'll still be ok, as long as you wash it fully once you're home, it's 100% fine

God Bless
I personally wouldn't. The milk thats still on the pump is going to crust and film and the inside of a plastic bag is not sanitary either. try the quick clean sanitizing wipes. Or the quick clean steam bags.
MMM. I'm sure it would be fine but maybe you can pack bottled water with you, quickly rinse it, and then put it in your bag. It won't be the cleanest thing but at least it can be rinsed off.
I agree with Mel, I think you should pre-pack a baggie of wipes so you can wipe them off this that.
use some anti bacterial cleaning wipes or baby wipes and make sure you steralize each part when you get home
