I'm a care assistant in a nursing home so I bed bath people daily. I appreciate it's embarrassing for many people %26amp; I always make sure my residents dignity is preserved as much as possble. Without wishing to make light of the subject, I see so many bums, boobs, willys %26amp; ****** that it doesn't really register with me now. It's just a body part to me, no more embarrassing than washing someone's arm or leg. I'm there to do a job %26amp; do it in a sensitive %26amp; caring manner. So yes I do understand why poeple find it embarrassing but rest assured I'm not looking at it in the same light you are.Do u ever worry that if u have to go hospital that nurses might have to wash you and see your private parts?
I worry about this a lot. Like going to physicals and stuff.


It's terrible.
they see that sort of thing every day,its all in a days work.while there washing you and sorting you out they will be thinking what can i have for tea tonight or i must pay the car tax when i leave work.so don't worry about it. :))
I've been in hospital several times but have never had to be washed there by a nurse.


I went on a hospital placement when I was 16 and my first job was to bath an old man. I was sooo embarrassed! I was really innocent and hadn't seen a man naked before. To make matters worse, he struck up conversation, informing me that he knew my dad!
they've seen it all before!

Sure it is embarrassing to think about but it would depend how sick you are if you'd even care. They have seen many naked bodies its nothing to them.

my registrar decided i needed a vontuse delivery, i closed my eyes for the next contraction and when i opened them 10 people were in the room! there i was lay in a nightie with my legs in stirrups for the world and his wife to see! one little doctor dived between my legs to insert a cathater whilst the registrar/2 midwives/ one aneathatist/ 2 health care workers/ a peadiatrician and 2 students looked on oh and my hubby!


so the registrar has his hand up/ midwife 1 nad hubby holding my hands and everyone else watching for something to happen and to do the clean up afterwards! now thats more embarrassing then having your bits washed!
how wonderful that would be!





too bad I have never been admitted to a hospital BUT I think that could be a highlight of it





how about a male nurse?????
Thats not so bad, it's when the male nurse comes along and dry shaves you ready for the operation (burst appendix)...... did not like another man's digits around my favorite toy, even if he was wearing surgical gloves - and the rash afterwards !!
not really im more worried they'll give me an injection, Id dance naked thru the aisles of the hospital going ward to ward singing 'I should be so lucky' by Kylie before taking an injection.





At 26 I still need magic cream for blood tests
yes we are all very similar, body-wise. when i was pregnant i had students round my bed looking at my pp. and some were guys. nurses and students have seen just about everything. watch ';embarrassing illnesses ';on tv at the moment
They're totally used to it!





And if you get so embarrassed at nurses SEEING your privates, try going to the Gynocologist!!!!!!!
hi i am a nurse and see so many private parts a day they are dume a dozzen.. yeah i see loads of them but you honnestly dont see them in that way and akways try to maintain dignity; i put myself in the patients shoes;)

Have you never played doctors and nurses when you were young? Anyway, one day when they lay you out, it will all be seen by strangers. Don't worry about the medical staff - they have seen it all before and you will not be the first or last.





But I once met a gynae-registrar who told me he chose the field because he wanted to see that part of the anatomy. Now that's a thought for the girls.
LOL trying being a woman and having nurses and doctors sticking all sorts into you!!!!! Trust me,they have seen it all before and then some. I have a nurse friend who tells stories of the most incredible things that go/happen in A %26amp; E!!
There's not much privacy involved in being in the hospital...but when you're there, if there's a reason you can't take care of yourself and someone else has to, it's usually enough of a reason that you're busy worrying about it, and not about a nurse seeing your private parts...at least that's how it was for me.

As a nurse who has given more than her share of baths to patients, I can offer you this...we don't think anything of it!!! I can't speak for all nurses but I know the majority of us couldn't care less about seeing someone's genitals.

No, because they are trained specialist. I highly doubt that is the worst thing they have ever seen.
dude ive been in hospital a few times, once for an op on said parts, but im not embarressed at all. Nurses dont care, they see loads and its all part of the job to them. So it really doesnt worry me.
